Regulate Blood

1 TASTE
Pungent and warm


2 MERIDIANS
Heart and liver


3 FUNCTIONS
1. To invigorate blood and release stagnation; 2. To promote menstruation


4 INDICATIONS
Blood stagnation manifested as amenorrhea, dysmenorrhea, postpartum abdominal pain and pain and swelling due to external. Safflower (Hong Hua) is used with peach seed (Tao Ren), Chinee angelica root (Chi Shao) is the formula Tao Hong Siwu Tang.


5 DOSAGE
3-10 g


6 COUTIONS
This herb is contraindicated during pregnancy.
