Lai Fu Zi

Relieve Food Stagnation

1 TASTE
Pungent, sweet and neutral


2 MERIDIANS
Spleen, stomach and lung


3 FUNCTIONS
1. To eliminate food retention; 2. To descend qi and resolve phlegm


4 INDICATIONS
1. Retention of food manifested as epigastric and abdominal distension and fullness, acid regurgitation, abdominal pain, Diarrhea and tenesmus. Radish seed (Lai Fu Zi) is used with Hawthorn fruit (Shan Zha), Medicated leaven (Shen Qu) and Tangerine peel (Chen Pi) in the formula Baohe Wan.2. Excessive phlegm manifested as cough with profuse sputum or asthma. Radish seed (Laifuzi) is used with White mustard seed (Bai Jie Zi) and Perilla seed (Su Zi) in the formula Sanzi Yangqing Tang.


5 DOSAGE
6-10 g
