220 cases of infantile Diarrhea [3] in autumn are divided into 2 groups at random. There are 180 cases in treatment group, 14.2 months old at average; 40 cases in control group, 14.34 months old at average. Treatment: apply Huo Ge He Ji in treatment group, add water to 300ml, dip in for 15 minutes, and decoct till 150~200 ml; take it in small doses at short intervals, and one dose a day. Prescriptions: Huo Xiang [4] (decocted later), Ge Gen [5], Bai Zhu [6], Fu Ling [7], Ye Ma Cao, Che Qian Zi [8] (Wrapped), Lian Qiao [9], Mu Gua [10] and Shi Liu Pi. Add Liu Yi San and Han Shui Shi for severe heat; add Hou Pu and prepared Ban Xia [11] for excess damp, vomiting and abdominal distention; add Bian Dou [12] and Huai Shan Yao [13] for obvious spleen deficiency; add prepared Shan Zha [14] and Shen Qu [15] for improper diet; add Wu Mei [16] and Sha Shen [17] for yin damage due to long term diarrhea; add Rou Dou Kou [18] and He Zi [19] for spleen and kidney yang deficiency. In control group, apply Furazolidon and Medilac-vita (routine dose) in oral. Add ORS liquor for moderate dehydration and above; combine with intravenous fluid infusion for severe dehydration. Treatment effects: the total effective rate is 98.9% in treatment group and 92.5% in control group.
