Pediatrics

220 cases of infantile Diarrhea in autumn are divided into 2 groups at random. There are 180 cases in treatment group, 14.2 months old at average; 40 cases in control group, 14.34 months old at average. Treatment: apply Huo Ge He Ji in treatment group, add water to 300ml, dip in for 15 minutes, and decoct till 150~200 ml; take it in small doses at short intervals, and one dose a day. Prescriptions: Huo Xiang (decocted later), Ge Gen, Bai Zhu, Fu Ling, Ye Ma Cao, Che Qian Zi (Wrapped), Lian Qiao, Mu Gua and Shi Liu Pi. Add Liu Yi San and Han Shui Shi for severe heat; add Hou Pu and prepared Ban Xia for excess damp, vomiting and abdominal distention; add Bian Dou and Huai Shan Yao for obvious spleen deficiency; add prepared Shan Zha and Shen Qu for improper diet; add Wu Mei and Sha Shen for yin damage due to long term diarrhea; add Rou Dou Kou and He Zi for spleen and kidney yang deficiency. In control group, apply Furazolidon and Medilac-vita (routine dose) in oral. Add ORS liquor for moderate dehydration and above; combine with intravenous fluid infusion for severe dehydration. Treatment effects: the total effective rate is 98.9% in treatment group and 92.5% in control group.
