Chinese Patent Herb / Transform Phlegm, Stop Coughing and Asthma [2]

Ingredients: Ma Huang [3], bitter Xing Ren [4], Zi Su Ye [5], Zi Su Zi [6] (fry), Huang Qin [7], Shi Gao [8], Yuan Zhi [9] (prepared), Bai Shao [10] Yao, Tian Men Dong [11], Zi Yuan, Wu Wei Zi [12], Zhi Mu [13], Fa-prepared Ban Xia [14], Mai Men Dong [15], Kuan Dong Hua [16], Sang Bai Pi [17], Cao Fang Zi, Gua Lou [18] Ren, Jie Geng [19], Bei Sha Shen [20], Qian Hu [21], Ju Hong, Ma Dou Ling [22], Gan Cao [23], Sheng Jiang [24], Da Zao [25].

Indications: clearing lung and relieving asthma, moistening dryness and stopping cough, resolving phlegm, removing stuffiness. It can be used for cough due to yin deficiency and lung heat, asthma with sticky sputum, fullness sensation on chest, it may be also used for exogenous wind-cold. We now use it for treatment of above symptoms caused by acute bronchitis, pneumonia, pharyngitis, phthisic, bronchiectasis etc.

Dosage: water-paste pills: 12g per package, about 100 granules, oral taking, 6g per time, 2-3 times each day.

Contraindications: asthma with cough due to excessive phlegm-dampness caused fluid retention, cold-phlegm attacking lung.
