4 INDICATIONS
1. Phlegm-heat accumulating in the lungs manifested as cough with yellow and thick sputum. Peucedanum root (Qian Hu) is used with Mullberry bark (Sang Bai Pi), Trichosanthes fruit (Gua Lou) and Tendrilled fritillary bulb (Chuan Bei Mu) in the formula Qianhu San.2. Cough due to invasion by exogenous pathogenic wind and heat. Peucedanum root (Qianhu) is used with Mentha (Bo He), Arctium fruit (Niu Bang Zi) and Platycodon root (Jie Geng).
