There are totally 275 patients with chronic laryngitis from outpatient department including 181 male and 94 female. Patients from 21 to 30 years old have 41; 31 to 40 have 116; 41 to 50 have 98; above 50 have 20.
Duration of disease: Below 1 year old – 72
From 2 to 5 years old – 122
Above 5 years old – 81
2 Treatment method
Primary ear points: throat, inferior aspect of tragus, brain
Secondary points: Lung Yin Deficiency – lung, antitragus
Kidney Yin Deficiency – kidney, ear-shen men
Retention of heat in stomach – stomach, spleen
Manipulation: we disinfect ear by 75% alcohol before treatment. After ear skin becomes dry, we use suitable size of She Xiang Zhi Tong Gao ( Musk Stopping Pain Tape ) to stick Wang Bu Liu Xing Seed on ear points, press seeds with thumb and index finger so that patient can feel pain and there is local congestion. We suggest patient to press seeds few times a day at home. Treatment is taken every other day and 10 times are considered as one course, we make statistics for patient who can continue one course on this topic.
3 Effect observation
Effect standard: Cured – all of symptoms are disappeared
Obvious effective – symptoms are mostly disappeared; only little uncomfortable sensation in throat is left.
No effect – no obvious improvement after treatment
Treatment result – Among 275 patients, total effective rate is 97.5% after treatment, so we believe that near effect is satisfied but distant effect needs further observation.
4 Experience
We should combine with different secondary points according to different syndromes.
Wang Bu Liu Xing Seed can stimulate ear points, She Xiang Zhi Tong Gao ( Musk Stopping Pain Tape ) can promote blood circulation, so both of them together can get good effect.
At the same time, we should suggest patients to eat bland food and no alcohol, smoking.
