Treatment on 7 Cases of Dumping Syndrome Given by Ban Xia Xie Xin Tang [1]

All the 7 patients been treated are suffered from stomach cancer or stomach, duodenal ulcer after resection of majority of stomach, which are all combine with dumping syndrome. The main clinical symptoms includes lassitude, dystrophia, upper abdomen angina after meals, fullness sensation, occasional nausea sensation, even vomiting after meals, difficult occasional. Borborygmus and Diarrhea [3] after taking liquid food, dizziness and severe palpitation, fatigue. Pale tongue with red margin and tip, white or yellow greasy tongue coating. Wiry thread and rapid pulse which feeling weak when pressing.

Treatment method: Ban Xia [4] Xie Xin Tang is main prescription. Ingredient includes Ban Xia, Dang Shen [5], Huang Qin [6], Huang Lian [7], Gan Jiang [8], Dai Zhe Shi [9], Zi Su Gen, Shan Yao [10], Pu Gong Ying [11], Hou Pu, Fu Ling [12], Bai Shao [13] Yao, Zhi Gan Cao [14], Da Zao [15], Sheng Jiang [16]. Water decocting and taking 3 times respectively. Drink a small amount of frequency if there is severe nausea. Adding Xuan Fu Hua [17], Fu Long Gan if there is hiccough. Adding Chen Pi [18], Zhu Ru [19], Lu Gen [20], Sha Ren [21], removing Shan Yao and Pu Gong Ying if there is severe vomiting. Adding Zhi Ke, Wu Yao [22], Bing Lang [23], Mu Xiang [24] etc if there are fullness sensation in abdomen. Adding Dan Shen [25], Chai Hu [26], Cao He Che etc if there is bitter taste and hypochondirac pain.

Treatment result: 4 cases are healed, 2 cases have effect, 1 case without effect.
