16 Cases of Prostatic Hypertrophy Treated with Wen Dan Tang [1]

All the 16 cases are outpatients in this hospital. All the patients have the syndromes as progressive dysuria and increasing of nocturia. Type-B ultrasonic shows: prostatic hypertrophy. The basic prescription is modification of Wen Dan Tang. Prescription: Zhi Ke, Zhu Ru [3], Chen Pi [4], Ban Xia [5], Fu Ling [6] and Prepared Gan Cao [7]. Add Pei Lan [8], Yi Yi Ren [9] and Bai Dou Kou [10] for stagnation of damp and turbid in middle energizer and obvious spleen and stomach deficiency; add Huang Bai [11], Zhi Mu [12] and Ze Xie [13] for severe damp heat in lower energizer  with manifestations of drippling, frequent, burning sensation and sticky urination; add Lu Lu Tong, Wang Bu Liu Xing [14], Dan Shen [15] and Niu Xi [16] for stagnation of blood and obstruction of urination.
Treatment results: the total effective rate is 80%.
