Treatment on 96 Cases of Children’s Asthma Given by Ma Di Jie Xiao Tang [1]

There are 96 children patients who suffered with asthma, the shortest course of disease is less than half year, the longest course of disease is more than 8 years; there are 11 patients who have family history of allergy, 4 patients have allergic diseases, 5 patients have drug allergy history. We use Ma Di Jie Xiao Tang for treatment, which include Ma Huang [3] (stir-baking with liquid), Di Long [4], Su Zi [5], Xing Ren [6], Kuan Dong Hua [7], Ban Xia [8], Sang Bai Pi [9], Huang Qin [10], Bai Guo [11], Gan Cao [12]. Water decocting, oral taking from several times, 1 decoction per day, 5 days are one course, we assess the effects after every course. The prescription can be modified according to the patients' age and the syndromes or symptoms. Adding Shi Gao [13] or Jin Yin Hua [14], Lian Qiao [15] if there is fever; adding Ting Li Zi [16], She Gan [17] if there is large amount of phlegm and suffocated sensation; adding Hai Fu Shi [18], Gua Lou [19] if there is phlegm difficult to expectorate.

Therapeutic effect: total effective rate is 92.7%.
