Drain Dampness

1 TASTE
Bitter and neutral


2 MERIDIANS
liver, stomach and neutral


3 FUNCTIONS
1.To resolve turbid urine; 2. To expel wind and trans-form dampness


4 INDICATIONS
1. Turbid urine caused by cold-damp in the urinary bladder. Hypoglauca yam (Bi Xie) is used with Bitter cardamom (Yi Zhi Ren), Grass-leaved sweetflag (Shicangpu) and lindera root (Wu Yao) in the formula Bixie Fenping Yin.2.Mild urinary problem due to damp-heat flowing down to the urinary bladder. Hypoglauca yam (Bixie) is used with Phellodendron bark (Huang Bai) and plantain seed (Chepianzi).3. wind-damp obstruction syndrome manifested as joint pain, numbness of the lower limbs and lower limbs and lower back pain .Hypoglauca yam (Bixie) is taken alone.4.Cold-damp obstruction syndrome. Hypoglauca yam (Bixie) is used with Cinnamon twigs (Gui Zhi) and prepared aconite root (Fu Zi).5. Damp-heat obstruction syndrome. Hypoglauca yam (Bixe) is used with Mulberry twigs (Sang Zhi), Large-leaf gentian root (Qin Jiao) and Coix seed (Yi Yi Ren).
