Gallbladder Meridian

Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue-frontal belly of occipitofrontal muscle.
There are the supraorbital artery and vein, the supraorbital nerve, and the frontal branches of the superficial temporal artery and vein on this area.


Location:
Sit upright with one's back propped; 3 cun laterally apart from the anterior median line, 0.5 cun into the hairline.
Function:
Expelling wind and relieving convulsion, activating the collaterals and relieving pain.


Indications:
Headache, insomnia, vertigo, and epilepsy.


Prescription:
Combined use with DazhuiGV14 (Dazhui (GV14)) for treatment of epilepsy; and with QiuhouEXHN7 (EX-HN7) for treatment of optic neuritis.


Methods:
Insert the needle subcutaneously to 0.3-0.5 cun depth; needling response: local numbness and distention; moxibustion: using 3-5 moxa-cones, or mild moxibustion for 10 min.
