1. Phlegm-heat couth manifested as cough with thick yellow sputum, asthma, chest pain and hypochondriac pain, Sea clam Shell (Hai Ge Ke [3]) is used with Costazia bone (Hai Fu Shi [4]) Swallowwort rhi-zome (Bai Qian [5]), mulberry bark (Sang Bai Pi [6]) capejasmine (Zhi Zi [7]) and Trichosanthes fruit (Gua Lou [8]).2. Scuofula and goitr. Sea clam shell (Haigeke) is used with Laminaria (Kun Bu [9]), Seaweed (Hai Zao [10]) and Ark shell (Wa Leng Zi [11]) in the formula hanhua wan.

10-15 g


6 COUTIONS
This substance is normally used in powdered form and should be placed in a cloth bag for decoction or removed from the decoction with a strainer.
