1. Phlegm-heat couth manifested as cough with thick yellow sputum, asthma, chest pain and hypochondriac pain, Sea clam Shell (Hai Ge Ke) is used with Costazia bone (Hai Fu Shi) Swallowwort rhi-zome (Bai Qian), mulberry bark (Sang Bai Pi) capejasmine (Zhi Zi) and Trichosanthes fruit (Gua Lou).2. Scuofula and goitr. Sea clam shell (Haigeke) is used with Laminaria (Kun Bu), Seaweed (Hai Zao) and Ark shell (Wa Leng Zi) in the formula hanhua wan.
