Treatment of 86 Cases of Diarrhea-predominant Irritable Bowel Syndrome Given by Jia Wei Tong Xie Yao Fang [1]

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a kind of common intestinal function disorders disease, which can be divided into Diarrhea [3] type, constipation type and alternative constipation and diarrhea-type. Treatment method: there are 86 cases in treatment group which treated by Jia Wei Tong Xie Yao Fang. Prescription: fry Bai Zhu [4], Fang Feng [5], Bai Zhi [6], Chen Pi [7], fry Mu Xiang [8], He Zi [9], Gan Cao [10]. Modification with syndrome: 1. adding Dang Shen [11], Chai Hu [12], Zhi Ke if there are liver stasis, spleen deficiency; 2. adding Gan Jiang [13], Huang Lian [14], Wu Mei [15] if there is cold complicated with heat; 3. adding Huang Qi [16], Dang Shen, Fu Ling [17], roasting Rou Dou Kou [18] if there is spleen-stomach weakness. For contrast group, all 50 cases oral take loperamide, 2mg each time, 3 times a day, taking for 4 weeks. Observe 6 months for patients with evident effect and patients with effect. Result: after statistics analysis, the effective rate in treatment group is better than that of contrast group.
