Clinical Observation of Chemotherapy Function of Middle-Late Stage Large Intestine Cancer Given by Warming Coldness and Relieving Toxicity Herbs [1]

We observe 44 cases of large intestine cancer in clinic which are all II-III stage patients. All the patients are randomly divided into two groups including 31 cases in herbs combining with chemotherapy group and 13 cases in simple chemotherapy group. Treatment method: for herbs combining with chemotherapy group, taking warming coldness and relieving toxicity anti-cancer herbs. Basic prescription: Ren Shen [3] 15g, Gui Zhi [4] 8g, Gao Liang Jiang [5] 10g, Shu Di Huang [6] 15g, Xu Duan [7] 15g, Xian He Cao [8] 18g, raw Yi Yi Ren [9] 30g, raw Huang Qi [10] 30g, roast E Zhu [11] 15g, fry Huai Hua [12] Jiao 10g, baking Sheng Jiang [13] charcoal 18g, Teng Li Gen 25g, Shu Yang Quan 15g, Qi Ye Yi Zhi Hua 30g, Bai Hua She She Cao 30g, Da Zao [14] 5 pieces, Sheng Jiang 3 pieces. According to large intestinal cancer TCM types, we modify the prescription on the basis of basic ingredients. Adding Rou Gui [15] 10g, Gan Jiang [16] 10g if there are aversion to cold and cold limbs; adding Dang Shen [17] 18g, Bai Zhu [18] 15g if there is qi deficiency; adding roast Sheng Jiang charcoal 30g, Huai Hua charcoal 10g, prepared Da Huang [19] charcoal 10g if there is severe bloody stools; adding Wu Gong [20] 3 pieces, Quan Xie [21] 4.5 pieces, Yan Hu Suo [22] 25g if there is severe pain; adding Bing Lang [23] 18g, Zhi Shi [24] 10g if there is abdominal distention; adding Sheng Da Huang 10g, Xuan Ming Fen 6-9g (dissolving in water) if there is constipation. One month is one course; we generally treat the patients with chemotherapy for 3-6 courses, oral taking Fu Fang Ban Mao Capsule (by Shanxi Fang Zhou pharmaceutical Co., Ltd), 3 capsules each time. It can improve the patients’ survival time and reduce postoperative recrudescence. Chemical treatment: 44 patients who suffer from large intestinal cancer were performed chemotherapy for 1-2 months, among which 13 cases were performed whole course chemotherapy and did not taking herbs.

Treatment result: for herbs combining with chemotherapy group, the total effective rate is 63.64%; for simple chemotherapy group, the total effective rate is 26.67%.
