The basic prescription includes calcining Hua Rui Shi [3], Sheng Zhe Shi, Ling Ci Shi, Dan Shen [4], Huang Qi [5], fresh Shan Sao, Shan Zhu Yu [6], Sheng Di Huang [7], Gan Cao [8]. Modification according to syndromes: (1) For deficiency of yin and dryness of lung, nose collaterals injury, adding Sha Shen [9], Mai Dong, Bai He [10]; (2) For flaring up of liver fire, disturbing circulation of blood, adding Huang Qin [11], Chi Shao [12], Mu Dan Pi [13]; (3) For hyperactivity of stomach fire, burning yang collaterals, adding fresh Shi Gao [14], Zhi Mu [15], Bai Mao Gen [16]; (4) For qi deficiency of lung-spleen, failure of blood to circulate in meridians, adding Lu Dang Shen [17], Sheng Ma [18], Bai Zhu [19]; (5) For injury of nose mucosa, adding Xian He Cao [20], Jin Yin Hua [21] and ji Xue Teng [22]; (6) For platelet decreasing causes nosebleed, adding E Jiao [23] (dissolving by hot water), Dang Gui [24], Zi He Che (grinding into powder, dissolving in the water and taking).
