Curriculum and way of training

  • Introductory course: Essentials of Chinese Acupuncture published by the People's Medical Publishing House has been adopted as the textbook for the course. Participants in the three month course will be able to acquire a general understanding of the basic theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), and a preliminary mastery of the fundamentals of acupuncture and moxibustion in relation to basic techniques of manipulation and locations of about 120 commonly used points, as well as the treating methods of about 25 common diseases by applying the differentiation of syndrome according to the theory of meridians and collaterals.
  • Period: 400 hours of theoretical and clinical training are arranged for each three-month course (same for the introductory and the advanced).
  • Way of teaching: in the first week theoretical study both in the morning and in the afternoon, afterwards, clinical training in the hospital in the morning and theoretical study in classroom in the afternoon.
  • On completion of the course, certificate will be issued to those who have passed the examinations (middle, final & clinical).

Curriculum and way of training

  • Advanced course: Chinese Acupuncture published by the Peoples Medical Publishing House is used as the textbook for the course.  Based on the essential knowledge of TCM obtained previously participants will learn tongue observation and pulse palpation of the four diagnostic methods, differentiation of syndrome according to the theory of Zang-fu organs, needling techniques , application of specific points and the treatment of common diseases. Participants will be able to acquire a thorough understanding of the basic theory of traditional Chinese medicine, a systematic knowledge about the theory of meridians and collaterals and a mastery of the locations, indications and needling of some 250 points. Consequently, they will be able to treat about 40 common diseases and some difficult diseases by determining the treatment according to differentiation of syndromes, and by prescribing and combining points.

Tuina Massage courses:

In view of some participants¡¯ difficulty in staying longer in China and their interests in different aspects of Chinese medicine some week short term courses are offered (30 hours weekly).

  • Tuina Massage courses (1---4 weeks)

    Tuina Therapy is the one of important Traditional Chinese Therapies£¬Tuina course includes 10 basic manipulations:
    Tuifa-Pushing,Mo(rou)fa-Kneading,Gunfa-Rolling,Nafa-Grasping ,Bofa-Plucking ,
    Anfa-Pressing ,Yaofa-Rotating ,Qiandoufa-Stretching,Banfa-Pulling,Koufa-Pounding and Tuina treatment of following diseases:
    Headache ,Insomnia, Tension, Facial paralysis ,Stiff neck, Cervical spondylosis, Back muscle strain(sprain), Injury of costovertebral joint, Lumbar strain, Acute lumbar sprain, Prolapse of lumber inter-vertebra disc, Periarthritis of shoulder joint (Frozen shoulder), Tennis elbow, Sprain of the wrist or digital joint, Sprain on the hip, knead or ankle joint , Osteoarthrosis , Sciatica ,Fit massage ,and Ear, Hand, Foot reflexology therapy.
Qigong courses:

In view of some participants¡¯ difficulty in staying longer in China and their interests in different aspects of Chinese medicine some week short term courses are offered (30 hours weekly).

  • Qigong courses (1---4 weeks)
    Medical qigong, an important part of traditional Chinese medicine, is related closely to the theory and clinical practice of acupuncture. Qigong course provided in the courses involves systematic study of the conception, essential theory and clinical application of qigong. A variety of qigong exercises, such as Qigong Taiji 15 Postures, Inner-Nourishing Qigong, Standing Stump, Inner Qi Cultivation and Eight-section Brocade , will be taught according to the request of the participants.
Taiji courses:

In view of some participants' difficulty in staying longer in China and their interests in different aspects of Chinese medicine some week short term courses are offered (30 hours weekly).

  • Taiji courses (1---4 weeks)
    Shadow boxing, an important component of Chinese culture, has played a significant role in understanding Chinese culture and Chinese philosophy. With prolonged evolution shadow boxing has become an important medical and health preservation approach. The course arranged concerns with the basic theory of shadow boxing, including the conception of shadow boxing, history of different schools, shadow boxing in connection with Chinese philosophy, and the essentials of shadow boxing practice, such as respiration, body movement, etc, Taijiquan of 24-simplified postures or of 42 competitive routines shall be taught according to the request of the participants.
Courses on diagnosis:

In view of some participants' difficulty in staying longer in China and their interests in different aspects of Chinese medicine some week short term courses are offered (30 hours weekly).

  • Courses on TCM diagnosis (2---4 weeks)
    Introduction of various diagnostic methods of TCM and the clinical application of the methods explained with case analysis are offered in the courses. The arrangement of theoretic learning and clinic practice is 1:1in period, with a stress laid on practice. The participants will get their experiences directly in the practice as well as by learning from experienced teachers, thus,  the capability of the participants in making diagnosis will rapidly increase.
Courses on pains:

In view of some participants' difficulty in staying longer in China and their interests in different aspects of Chinese medicine some week short term courses are offered (30 hours weekly).

  • Courses on pains (2---4 weeks)
    The courses involve the origin, pathogenesis and classification of pains, application of four diagnostic methods, the key points for differentiating pains, the acupuncture therapies, methods for common pains and personal experiences in managing pains.
Courses on Neijing:

In view of some participants' difficulty in staying longer in China and their interests in different aspects of Chinese medicine some week short term courses are offered (30 hours weekly).

  • Courses on Neijing
    (The medical literature of Yellow Emperor's Internal Classic (selective chapters 2---4 weeks)

    The Yellow Emperor's Internal Classic is the earliest extant monograph on TCM, the courses are provided for those who already have the essential knowledge of acupuncture or have practiced acupuncture, through studying important chapters of Yellow Emperor¡¯s Internal Classic the understanding on the theory and origin of TCM application will be further deepened.
Courses on herbal medicine:

In view of some participants' difficulty in staying longer in China and their interests in different aspects of Chinese medicine some week short term courses are offered (30 hours weekly).

    Courses on herbal medicine (2---12 weeks)
    The essentials of herbal medicine in the aspects of individual herbs, herbal recipes, and patent Chinese medicine are covered in the courses, which concern the theory of herbal properties (four properties, five flavors), meridian tropism, compatibility of herbs , contraindications, etc. 120 kinds of herbs involving classification, properties, actions, indications and compatibility will be included, on the basis of which 50 prescriptions concerning the regularity in formulating prescriptions, therapeutic principles, modification of prescriptions, and preparation of decoctions will be learned, the courses will also introduce 50 patent medicines, with which treatment of diseases in the clinic will be studied.
Courses on cosmetics and losing weight:

In view of some participants' difficulty in staying longer in China and their interests in different aspects of Chinese medicine some week short term courses are offered (30 hours weekly).

  • Courses on cosmetics and losing weight (1---4weeks)
    The basic cosmetic theory£¬skills, dietary and herbal therapies are introduced in the courses. The fundamental difference between the cosmetic methods of TCM and other methods lies in that through internal regulation of human body to radically eliminate the causative factors of gaining weight and facial dermatological diseases so as to have a long-term satisfied effect, the therapies are painless, and free from side effects, with no need on diet, without reoccurrence of the problems. Cosmetic treatment scope: acne, chloasma, rough skin, lusterless complexion, wrinkles, acne rosacea, eyelid droop, eyelid sac, early hair graying, withered hair, hair falling, alopecia areata , various warts, scars, breast maldevelopment, mastoptosis, etc.

Courses on the terminology of TCM:

  • Courses on the terminology of TCM (1---4weeks)
    A short TCM term or a name of acupuncture point may involve large information, to learn the original meaning of TCM terms and the points will benefit participants in having a deep understanding of the theory, principle, therapeutics and prescription of TCM, as well as the locations, functions and effects of points.
Introduction of the features and experiences of acupuncture specialists:

In view of some participants' difficulty in staying longer in China and their interests in different aspects of Chinese medicine some week short term courses are offered (30 hours weekly).

  • Introduction of the features and experiences of acupuncture specialists (1---2weks)
    This course concerns with the clinical experiences of famous acupuncture specialists, the lectures involve diagnostic methods and treatment applied by the specialists for wind stroke, diabetes, Bi-syndromes, headache, insomnia, fatigue syndrome, sports injuries, and some stubborn diseases concerning respiratory, digestive, neurotic, reproductive systems and dermatological illnesses. Clinical application of empirical prescriptions and points, special manipulation techniques, fire needle therapy, scalp acupuncture, auricular acupuncture, eye acupuncture will be introduced. The famous specialists invited to the course are those with some 50 years TCM clinical experiences, profound knowledge, and wonderful skills, they will demonstrate their skills, pass their specialty to the participants so that difficult clinic issues from the participants will be well discussed with better solutions.
Course on ear acupuncture and scalp acupuncture:

In view of some participants¡¯ difficulty in staying longer in China and their interests in different aspects of Chinese medicine some week short term courses are offered (30 hours weekly).

  • Course on ear acupuncture and scalp acupuncture (one week)
    The history of ear and scalp acupuncture, their theoretic system will be covered, the emphasis of the study will be placed on the point locations, indications, and clinical application of the therapies. In addition, ear point detection and its instruments, and ear point diagnosis will be covered. Ear and scalp acupuncture pertain to micro-needling therapies, with an attempt to provide vivid mode of teaching for the participants in locating the points easily , ear and head models, charts and multi-media demonstration will be used in the course .
