1 TASTE
Bitter, astringent and cold


2 MERIDIANS
Large intestine, stomach and liver


3 FUNCTIONS
1. To clear heat, dry dampness and stop leukorrhea;2. To astringe the intestines;3. To stop bleeding; 4. To kill worms


4 INDICATIONS
1. Damp-heat type of Diarrhea [3] or dysentery. Ailanthus bark (Chun-pi) is used with Coptis root (Huang Lian [4]), Scutellaria root (Huang Qin [5]) and Costus root (Mu Xiang [6])    2. Yellow leukorrhea due to damp-heat. Ailanthus bark (Chun Pi [7]) is used with Phellodendron bark (Huang Bai [8]).    3. Menorrhagia or uterine bleeding caused by heat in the blood. Ailanthus bark (Chunpi) is used with Tortoise plastron (Gui Ban [9]), White peony root (Bai Shao [10])and Scutellaria root (Huangqin).


5 DOSAGE
3-5g
