3 FUNCTIONS
1. To dry dampness and warm the spleen and stomach; 2. To promote qi circulation


4 INDICATIONS
Cold-damp blocking and stagnating spleen and stomach manifested as epigastric and abdominal distension and fullness, cold pain, vomiting and Diarrhea [3]. In cases of excessive dampness, Katsumadai and (Cao Dou Kou [4]) is used with Magnolia bark (Hou Po [5]), Atractylodes rhizome (Cang Zhu [6]) and Pinellia tuber (Ban Xia [7]). In cases of excessive cold, Katsumadai seed (Caodoukou) is used with Magnolia bark dampness, (Houpo),Atractylodes rhizome (Cangzhu) and Pinellia tuber (Banxia). In cases of excessive cold, Katsumadai seed (Caodoukou) is used with, Cinnamon bark (Rou Gui [8]) and Dried ginner (Gan Jiang [9]).
