4 INDICATIONS
1.Febrile diseases manifested as thirst, irritability and fever. Reed root (Lu Gen [3]) is used with Gypsum (Shi Gao [4]), Ophiopogon root (Maidong) and Trichosanthes root (Tian Hua Fen [5]).2. Heat in the stomach with vomiting and belching. Reed root (Lugen) is used with the juice of Fresh ginger (Sheng Jiang [6]), Bamboo shavings (Zhu Ru [7]) and Loquat leaf (Pi Pa Ye [8]).3. Heat in the lungs manifested as cough, expectoration of thick, yellow sputum and pulmonary abscess. Reed root (Lugen) is used with Honeysuckle flower (Jin Yin Hua [9]), Houttuynia (Yu Xing Cao [10]) and Benincasa seed (Dongguaren).


5 DOSAGE
15-30 g


6 COUTIONS
This herb should be used with caution in cases with cold and deficient spleen and stomach.
