Tonify Deficiencies

1 TASTE
Pungent, sweet and warm


2 MERIDIANS
Liver and kidney


3 FUNCTIONS
1. To tonify the kidneys and strengthen yang; 2. To expel wind and dampness


4 INDICATIONS
1. Deficient kidney yang manifested as impotence weakness of the lower back and knees and frequent urination. Epimedium(Yin Yang Huo)is used with Curculigo rhizome( Xian Mao) and Prepared erhmannia root (Shu Di Huang).    2. Cold pain in the lower back and knees and numbness of limbs due to obstruction by invasion of wind-cold-dam. Epimedium (Yinyanghuo) is used with lematis root (Wei Ling Xian), Eucommia bark (Du Zhong)and Cinnamon twigs(Gui Zhi).


5 DOSAGE
10-15g


6 COUTIONS
This herb is contraindicated in cases with deficiency of yin with excessive fire.
