Large Intestine Meridian

Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue-brachioradial muscle-brachial muscle.
In the superficial layer, there is the posterior cutaneous nerve of the forearm. In the deep layer, there are the branches or tributaries of the radial collateral artery and vein.


Location:
Flex the elbow; 1 cun obliquely above and lateral to QuchiLI11(Quchi (LI11) He-Sea Point), on the external border of brachial triceps muscle.
Function:
Clearing and activating the channels and collaterals.


Indications:
Pain, numbness and contracture of the elbow and arm.


Prescription:
Combined use with QuchiLI11 (LI11) for treatment of arthritis and external humeral epicondylitis, and with JianliaoTE14 (Jianliao (TE14)) for treatment of scapulohumeral periarthritis.


Methods:
Insert the needle perpendicularly 1.0-1.5 cun deep; needling response: local sensation of distension and soreness; moxibustion: using 3-5 moxa-cones, or mild moxibustion for 15 min.
