Shui Zhi

Regulate Blood

1 TASTE
Salty, bitter, neutral and slightly toxic


2 MERIDIANS
Liver


3 FUNCTIONS
1. To invigorate blood and remove stagnation; 2. To promote menstruation.


4 INDICATIONS
1. Amenorrhea or abdominal and epigastric masses caused by blood stagnation. Leech (Shuizi) is used with Peach seed (Tao Ren), Burreed tuber (San Leng) and Chinese angelica root (Dang Gui).2. Chest pain, abdominal pain and constipation caused by blood stagnation due to external injury. Leech (Shui Zhi) is used with Pharbitis seed (Qianniuzi) and Rhubard (Da Huang) in the formula Duoming Dan.


5 DOSAGE
3-6 g; 0.3-0.5 g for baked powber


6 COUTIONS
This substance is contraindicated during pregnancy.
