Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue-central tendon of perineum.
In the superficial layer, there are the perineal brabches of the posterior femoral cutaneous nerve and the perineal mervous branches of the pudendal nerve.In the deep layer, there are the branches of the pudendal nerve and the branches or tributaries of the internal pudendal artery and vein.


Location:
Lithotomy position; at the midpoint of the line connecting the posterior end of scratum and the anterior end of annus in man; at the midpoint of the line connecting association areas of greater lip of pudendum and anus in woman.
Function:
Promoting resuscitation and restoring yang from collapse, and removing obstruction in lower jiao.


Indications:
Vaginitis, retention of urine, hemorrhoid, and emission, enuresis, irregular menstruation, and mental disorders.


Prescription:
Combined use with YinlingquanSP9 (Yinlingquan (SP9) He-Sea Point [3]) for treatment of eczema of scrotum and vulvitis; with ShuigouGV26 (Shuigou (GV26) [4]) for treatment of schizophrenia; with ChengshanBL57 (Chengshan (BL57) [5]) for treatment of hemorrhoid; and with SuliaoGV25 (Suliao (GV25) [6]), HeguLI4 (Hegu (LI4) Yuan-Source Point [7]), NeiguanPC6 (Neiguan (PC6) Luo-Connecting Point the Eight Confluent Point [8]), FenglongST40 (Fenglong (ST40) Luo-Connecting Point [9]), and Taichong (LR3) Shu-Stream, Yuan-Source Point [10] (liv 3) for treatment of drowning.


Methods:
Insert the needle perpendicularly to 0.5-1 cun depth; needling response: local numbness and distention; moxibustion: using 3-5 moxa-cones, or mild moxibustion for 10 min.
