Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue-long head and lateral head of brachial triceps muscle-radial nerve-medial head of brachial triceps muscle.
In the superficial layer, there is the posterior brachial cutaneous nerve. In the deep layer, there are the radial nerve and the deep brachial artery and vein.


Location:
Sit upright with drooping shoulders; on the posterior side of the shoulder, 3 cun vertically below JianliaoTE14(Jianliao (TE14) [3]), vertically above TianjingTE10(Tianjing (TE10) [4]).
Function:
Resolving masses, removing the obstruction from the channels, and relieving pain.


Indications:
Pain in the shoulder and arms, goiter.


Prescription:
Combined use with JianjingGB21 (Jianjing (GB21) [5]) for treatment of periarthritis of shoulder; with RenyingST9 (Renying (ST9) [6]), and FutuLI18 (Futu (LI18) [7]) for treatment of goiter; and with ZhigouTE6 (Zhigou (TE6) [8]), QuchiLI11 (Quchi (LI11) He-Sea Point [9]), WanguSI4 (Wangu (SI4) Yuan-Primary Point [10]), and ZhouliaoLI12 (Zhouliao (LI12) [11]) for the treatment of pain in the elbow and arms.


Methods:
Insert the needle perpendicularly, 0.5-0.8 cun deep; needling response: local numbness and distension, radiating downwards; moxibustion: using 3-7 moxa-cones, or mild moxibustion for 10 min.
