Clinical Study on Impotence Treated with Massage Combining with Chinese Herbs [1]

Chinese Medicine Tuina / Chinese Massage [2]

36 cases of this group are divided into 3 groups at random, viz. massage group, Chinese herb group and massage combining with Chinese herbs group, each of which includes 12 patients. Treatments: apply massage on head, back and related acupoints for massage group; apply modification of Chai Hu [3] Shu Gan Tang for Chinese herbs group; apply the both treatments above for massage combining with Chinese herbs group. 60 mins massage for once; one dose Chinese herbs a day and 30 days continuous oral taking. Corresponding meridian acupoints selection and manipulations: apply Na Fa (holding), Mo Fa (circular kneading), An Fa (Pressing), Ca Fa (rubbing) and Tan Fa (plucking), and choose Baihui (GV20) [4], Qihai (CV6) [5], Guanyuan (CV4) Front-Mu Point of the SmallIntestine [6], Zhongji (CV3) Front-Mu Point of the Bladder [7], Huiyin (CV1) [8], Changqiang (GV1) Luo-Connecting Point [9], Ganshu (BL18) [10], Shenshu (BL23) [11], Mingmen (GV4) [12], Sanyinjiao (SP6) [13], Yanglingquan (GB34) He-Sea Point, Influential Point of Tendon [14], Taixi(KI3) Shu-Stream, Yuan-Source Point [15] and Taichong (LR3) Shu-Stream, Yuan-Source Point [16]. Test LH, FSH, PRL and T (RIA) before and after treatment. Treatment results: T lever is obvious low and LH、FSH、PRL are high before treatment. After the treatment, T lever is higher than before (P<0.05) and LH、FSH、PRL is lower than before (P<0.05) in both massage and Chinese herbs groups; and the results of massage combining with Chinese herbs group is most obvious (P<0.01).
