Spleen Meridian

Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue-long flexor muscle of toes-posterior tibial muscle-long flexor muscle of great toe.
 In the superficial layer, there are the medial curaneous branches of the leg from the saphenous nerve and the tributaries of the great saphenous vein. In the deep layer, there are the tibial nerve and the posterior tibial atrery and vein.

Upright sitting or supine position; on the posterior border of the medial side of the tibia, 3 cun vertically above the tip of medial malleolus.
Strengthening the spleen and stomach, tonifying the liver and kidney, and regulating menstruation and leukorrhea.

Abdominal pain, borborygmus, abdominal distension, Diarrhea, dysmenorrhea, irregular menstruation, uterine bleeding, morbid leukorrhea, prolapse of the uterus, sterility, delayed labour, nocturnal emission, impotence, enuresis, dysuria, edema, hernia, pain in the external genitalia, muscular atrophy, motor impairment, paralysis and pain of the lower extremities, headache, dizziness and vertigo, and insomnia.

Combined use with QuchiLI11 (Quchi (LI11) He-Sea Point) for treatment of hypertension; with GuanyuanCV4 (Guanyuan (CV4) Front-Mu Point of the SmallIntestine) for treatment of functional metrorrhagia; with moxibustion ShuifenCV9 (Shuifen (CV9)) for treatment of abdominal distension; with ShenshuBL23 (Shenshu (BL23)) and HeguLI4 (Hegu (LI4) Yuan-Source Point) for treatment of transverse lie; with HeguLI4 (LI4), TaichongLR3 (Taichong (LR3) Shu-Stream, Yuan-Source Point), KunlunBL60 (Kunlun (BL60) Jing-River Point) and ZhiyinBL67 (Zhiyin (BL67) Jing-Well Point) for treatment of prolonged labor; and with QihaiCV6 (Qihai (CV6)) for treatment of emission.

Insert the needle perpendicularly 0.3-0.5 cun deep; needling response: local sensation of distension, radiating downward to the foot; moxibustion: using 3-5 moxa-cones, or mild moxibustion for 10 min.
