The Reports on 35 Cases of Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy Treated by Gui Zhi Fu Ling Wan [1]

The diabetic peripheral neuropathy is one of the most common complications, the complete reports on 35 cases are analyzed as follows. Treatment methods: change the Gui Zhi [3] Fu Ling [4] Wan into decoction, 10g for each herb, one dose a day, be decocted, and take it for 2 months. Add Hong Hua [5], Chuan Xiong [6], Dang Gui [7] for server blood stasis; add Bai Jie Zi [8], Ju Luo and Lu Jiao Shuang for damp and phlegm; add Huang Qin [9], Shan Yao [10] and Sha Shen [11] for deficiency of both qi and yin; add Zhi Mu [12], Mai Dong and Zhi Zi [13] for dryness and heat. In the treatment duration, other medicines are discontinued except the pills for controlling blood sugar. Observation methods: observe the changing of subjective symptoms (numbness, pain, fatigue, etc,) once a week, do lab test of blood sugar and hemorheology and MNCV, and do the comparison or contrast.

Results: the total effective rate is 85.7%.
