Effect of Electroacupuncture at Hegu (LI4) Yuan-Source Point and Sanyinjiao (SP6) on Short-term Adverse Effects of Drug-induced Abortion [1]

90 cases of early pregnancy were divided into 3 groups randomly for the effect of electroacupuncture at Hegu (LI4) Yuan-Source Point [3] and Sanyinjiao (SP6) [4] on short-term adverse effects of drug-induced abortion. The control group was treated with medicine, electroacupuneture group I with electroacupuncture at both LI4 and SP6 simultaneously within 30-60 min after the medicine was given, and electroacupuncture group II with electroacupuncture at LI 4 first then SP 6 successively within 30-60 min after the medicine was administrated.

Results and conclusion: The short-term adverse effect in both electroacupuncture groups was more significantly alleviated comparing with the control group (P<0.05), and alleviative degree of abdominal pain in the electroacupuncture group II is better than that in the electroacupuncture group I. Electroacupuncture at LI4 and SP6 can alleviate short-term adverse effects of drug-induced abortion, and the plan first needling (EA) LI4 then following (EA) SP6 can be more significantly alleviate abdominal pain.
