Clinical Observation on 186 Cases of Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS) Treated by Methods of Promoting kidney, Eliminating Stagnation and Removing Pathogenic Factors [1]

All of 186 cases are from inner or outer departments of our hospital. Treatment method: all are treated with methods of promoting kidney, eliminating stagnation and removing pathogenic factors, ingredients: Du Zhong [3] 15g, Xu Duan [4], Sang Ji Sheng [5], Tu Si Zi [6], Wu Jia Pi [7], Huai Niu Xi [8], Lei Gong Teng, San Qi [9], Tao Ren [10], each 10g, Hong Hua [11] 5g. Add Wei Ling Xian [12] 30g, Huang Bai [13] 10g, Yi Yi Ren [14], Bai Hua She She Cao, each 30g for dampness and heat; add Sheng Di Huang [15] 10g, Gui Ban [16] 30g for yin deficiency; add zhi Fu Zi [17] 10-30g, Lu Jiao Jiao, Yin Yang Huo [18], each 10g for yang deficiency; add Gui Zhi [19] 10-30g, Du Huo [20] 10g for cold and dampness; add Chuan Xiong [21], Jiang Huang [22], Ze Lan [23], each 10g for prolonged case and severe pain; add Wu Shao She 5g, pao Chuan Shan Jia [24] 10g, Quan Xie [25] 3g, Wu Gong [26] 6g for stiffness of back and low back or limitation in movement; add Bai Jie Zi [27] 8g, Bai Zhi [28] 6g for numbness on extremities; add huai Shan Yao [29] 20g for tendon and muscle contraction; add Huang Qin [30] 20g, Dang Shen [31] 10g, Dang Gui [32] 10g for qi and blood deficiency. 3 months are one treatment course, observe 2-3 courses. Result: total effective rate is 100%, curative and obvious effective rates are 48%.
