3 FUNCTIONS
1. To calm and tranquilize the mind; 2. To invigorate the blood and release stagnation; 3. To promote urination.


4 INDICATIONS
1. Infantile convulsions and epilepsy. Amber (Hu Po [3]) is used with Centipede (Wu Gong [4]) and Scorpion (Quan Xie [5]).2. Palpwith Wild jujube seed (Suan Zao Ren [6]) and Multiflower knotweed (Yejiaoteng).3. Dysmenorrhea or amenorrhea due to blood stagnation. Amber (Hupo) is used with Chinese angelica root (Dang Gui [7]), Zedoary (E Zhu [8]) and lindera root (Wu Yao [9]) in the formula Hupo San.4. Urinary tract disorders manifested as frequent urination, painful urinations, bloody urine or calculus formation in the urinary tract. Amber (Hupo) is used with Lysimachia (Jin Qian Cao [10]), Clematis stem (Mu Tong [11]) and Imperata rhizome (Bai Mao Gen [12]).


5 DOSAGE
1.5-3 g (Powder form)


6 COUTIONS
This substance is used in powder and pills, not in decoctions.
