3 FUNCTIONS
1. To invigorate blood and promote menstruation; 2. To promote lactation; 3. To reduce swelling and dispel pus.


4 INDICATIONS
1. Amenorrhea caused by blood stagnation. Pangolin scale (Chuan Shan Jia [3]) is used with Chinese angelica root (Dang Gui [4]), Chuanxiog rhizome (Chuan Xiong [5]) and Safflower (Hong Hua [6]).2. Postpartum insufficient lactation. Pangolin scales (Chuanshanjia) is used with Vaccaria seed (Wang Bu Liu Xing [7]), Ricepaper pith (Tong Cao [8]) and Chinese angelica root (Danggui).3. Wind-damp obstruction syndrome manifested as joint pain and motor impairment. Pangolin scales (Chuanshanjia) is used with Chuanxiong rhizome (Chuanxiong), Notopterygium root (Qiang Huo [9]), Pubescent angelica root (Du Huo [10]) and Ledebouriella (Fang Feng [11]).4. Beginning of carbuncles and swelling manifested as red, hot, painful swollen skin. Pangolin scales (Chuanshanjia) is used with Honeylocust thorn (Zao Jiao Ci [12]). Tendrilled fritillary bulb (Chuan Bei Mu [13]), Frankincense (Ru Xiang [14]), Myrrh (Mo Yao [15]), Red peony (Chi Shao [16]) and Honeysuckle flower (Jin Yin Hua [17]).

3-10 g


6 COUTIONS
Pangolin scales (Chunshanjia) should be used cautiously in sores that have already ulcerated. This substance is contraindicated during pregnancy.
