3 FUNCTIONS
1. To stop bleeding; 2. To reduce swelling and promote healing.


4 INDICATIONS
1. Hemorrhages: a) cough with blood due to deficient yin of the lungs-Bletilla tuber (Bai Ji [3]) is used with Donkey hide gelatin (E Jiao [4]), Lotus node (Ou Jie [5]) and Loquat leaf (Pi Pa Ye [6]); b) vomiting with blood-Bietilla tuber (Baiji) is used with Cuttlefish bone (Wu Zei Gu [7]) in the formula Wu Ji San; C) hemorrhage due to external injuries. Bletilla tuber (Baiji) can be applied alone or with the powder of Calcine gypsum (Duanshigao) for external use.2. Boils, carbuncles and swelling; a) affected areas with redness, swelling, hot sensation and pain-Bletilla tuber (Baiji) is used with Honeysuckle flower (Jin Yin Hua [8]), Tendrilled fritillary bulb (Chuan Bei Mu [9]), Trichosanthes root (Tian Hua Fen [10]) and Honeylocust thorn (Zao Jiao Ci [11]) in the formula Neixiao San; b) chronic non-healing ulcers-the power of Bletilla tuber (Baiji0 is applied directly to wounds.3. Chapped skin or cracked hands or feet. The powder of Bletilla tuber (Baiji) is mixed with sesame oil for external use.

3-10 g


6 COUTIONS
This herb counteracts Sichuan aconite root (Wutou).
