4 INDICATIONS
1. Heat sings due to deficiency of yin manifested as afternoon fever and night sweating. Stellaria root (Yin Chai Hu [3]) is used with Sweet wormwood (Qing Hao [4]), Turtle shell (Bie Jia [5]) and Wolfberry bark. (Di Gu Pi [6]) in the formula Qinggu San.2. Infantile malnutrition manifested as swollen abdomen and emaciation. Stellaria root (Yinchaihu) is used with Capejasmime (Zhi Zi [7]) Pilose asiabell root (Dang Shen [8]) and Scutellaria root (Huang Qin [9]) in the formula Chai Hu [10] Qinggan Tang.

6 COUTIONS
This herb is contraindicated in fever due to invasion by exogenous pathogenic wind and cold, or in cases with deficient blood syndrome but no sings or heat.
