3 FUNCTIONS
1. To clear heat and disperse wind; 2. To brighten the eyes.


4 INDICATIONS
Wind-heat in the liver meridian manifested as red, painful and swollen eyes, excessive tearing, photophobia and corneal opacity. Pipewort (Gu Jing Cao [3])  is used with Schi-zonepeta (Jing Jie [4]), Chinese gentian (Long Dan Cao [5]) and red peony (Chi Shao [6]).


5 DOSAGE
6-15 g


6 COUTIONS
This herb is contraindicated in cased with deficiency of blood.
