Regional Anatomy:
Tongue muscle-submucous loose connective tissue-lingual muscle.
There are the lingual nerve from the mandibular nerve, the hypoglossal nerve, the nervous fibers of the tympanic cord, and the anteriovenous network of the lingual artery and vein in this area.


Location:
Sit upright, open one's mouth, and stretch out one's tongue, the tongue tip holded by the hand of the doctor with the antiseptic gauze; in the depression about the centre of the median raphe of the dorsum linguae.
Function:
Promoting the flow of qi and producing the body fluid.


Indications:
Stiff tongue, taste sense attenuation, and asthma.


Prescription:
Combined use with LianquanCV23 (Lianquan (CV23) [3]) for treatment of stiff tongue.


Methods:
Insert the needle perpendicularly to 0.1-0.2 cun deep or prick to cause bleeding; needling response: local distension and pain; moxibustion: using indirect moxibustion threapy is adopted, using 3-5 moxe-cones each time.
