Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue-epicranial aponeurosis-subaponeurotic loose tissue.
There are the frontal nerve and the anastomotic network of the left and right superficial temporal arteries and veins with the left and right fronral arteries and veins in this area.


Location:
Proper sitting with one's back propped; draw a line connecting the anterior and posterior hairline, a spot on this line, 1/6 apart from the anterior hairline, or 5/6 apart from the posterior hairline. Or, 1 cun posterior to ShangxingGV23(Shangxing (GV23) [3]).
Function:
Refreshing oneself and removing wind.


Indications:
Headache, blurring of vision, rhinorrhea, and infantile convulsion.


Prescription:
Combined use with ShuigouGV26 (Shuigou (GV26) [4]) for treatment of dysosmia; and with ShixuanEXUE11 (EX-UE11) for treatment of infantile epilepsy.


Methods:
Insert the needle subcutaneously to 0.5-1 cun depth; needling response: local sensation of numbness and distention; moxibustion: using 3-5 moxa-cones, or mild moxibustion for 10 min.
