Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue.
There are the terminal branches of the proper palmar digital nerve of the median nerve, and the arterovenous network of the proper palmar digital arteries and veins in this area. Inside the subcutaneous tissue are the rich fiber bundles between the skin and the periosteum of the distal phalanx.


Location:
Supinate the palm; at the centre of the tip of middle finger, about 0.1 cun below the free border of the nail.
Function:
Restoring consciousness to treat syncope, and clearing away the heart-fire.


Indications:
Shock, apoplexy, coma, cerebral hemorrhage, heliosis, hypertension, angina pectoris, myocarditis, and infantile dyspepsia.


Prescription:
Combined use with LianquanCV23 (Lianquan (CV23) [3]) for treatment of glossitis,; with DazhuiGV14 (Dazhui (GV14) [4]) for treatment of epilepsy; with YintangEXHN3 (EX-HN3) and HeguLI4 (Hegu (LI4) Yuan-Source Point [5]) for treatment of infantile convulsions.


Methods:
Insert the needle perpendicularly or obliquely, 0.1-0.2 cun deep; needling response: local pain; moxibustion: using 1-3 moxa-cones, or mild moxibustion for 5-10 min.
