Acupuncture Points / Small Intestine Meridian [2]

Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue-posterior part of deltoid muscle-long head of brachial triceps muscle-teres major muscle-tendon of latissimus muscle of back.
In the superficial layer, there are the lateral cutaneous branch of the 2nd intercostal nerve and the superior lateral cutaneous nerve of the arm. In the deep layer, there is the radial nerve.


Location:
Upright sitting with drooping shoulder, adduct the upper arm; 1 cun vertically above the end of the posterior stria of axilla.
Function:
Refresing oneself, improving audition corrd clearing and activating the channels and collaterals.


Indications:
Pain in the scapular region, motor impairment of the hand and arm.


Prescription:
Combined use with JianliaoTE14 (Jianliao (TE14) [3]) for treatment of scapulohumeral periarthritis; with QuchiLI11 (Quchi (LI11) He-Sea Point [4]) for treatment of axillary lymphnoditis, with WanguGB12 (Wangu (GB12) [5]) for treatment of tinnitus.


Methods:
Insert the needle perpendicularly 1.0-1.5 cun deep; needling response: local sensation of distension and numbness , radiating to the hand; moxibustion: using 3-5 moxa-cones, or mild moxibustion for 15 min.
