27 Cases of Central Hiccough Treated with Scalp Acupuncture [1]

All these 27 cases are out-patients from rehabilitation department of our hospital. The shortest disease course is one day and the longest is 8 days. Treatment: two lines on bilateral sides of forehead (anterior of head, draw the lines forward from Toulinqi (GB15) [3] on Gall Bladder meridian, 3cm long). Choose 40mm long needles, pierce into subcutaneous?quickly, 30°with scalp; when reach the under layer of galea aponeurotica, and the resistance under finger decreases, continue to twirling and insert the needles   parallel with scalp till periosteum with 30mm deep, and then manipulate needles with both hands, 130-200 times one minutes, lasting for 2 minutes and retain the needles for 10 minutes. Repeat the manipulations above for 3 times and then draw out the needles. Once a day generally, twice a day for severe one, and count the results after 10 times treatments.

Results: the total effect is 92.6%.
