Taiyang disease can be divided two types: external and internal. There are two kind sub-types in external due to patient’s constitution when wind-cold evil attack. One is wind strike, and another is cold damage. Wind strike is Taiyang external deficiency syndrome, the symptoms are aversion to cold and wind, fever, headache, spontaneous sweating, vomiting, floating and moderate pulse etc. Cold damage is Taiyang external excess syndrome, the symptoms include aversion to cold, fever, headache, stiff neck, body tight and ache, no sweating, asthma, vomiting, floating and tight pulse etc.
