Chinese Medicine Classic / Nei Jin [2]

The Emperor asked: "Can you tell me the functions of the qi of the lower-warmer?”

Qi Bo answered: “The qi of the lower-warmer flows into the ileum and rushes into the bladder. So water and grains usually stay and store in the stomach, and then the dregs get down to the large intestine. The process forms one of lower-warmer’s functions. The small intestine filters and purifies water and grains and then the wastewater seeps into the bladder along the lower-warmer."

Key Words: generation and meeting of nutritive qi and defensive qi, in the divine pivot
