The essential qi of the five zang-organs and six fu-organs all flows into the eyes to obtain visual sense. The eyes are the nests of the visceral essences. The essence of the kidneys nourishes the pupils. The essence of the liver nourishes the colored parts of the eyes. The essence of the heart nourishes the capillaries. The essence of the lungs nourishes the whites of the eyes (conjunctivae). The essence of the spleen nourishes the eyelids. The pupils, colored parts, whites, capillaries and concerned channels constitute a visual system that connects with the brain upward and gets out of the center of back side of neck.
