Sour flavor runs to the liver first. Bitter flavor runs to the heart first. Sweet flavors runs to the spleen first. Acrid flavors runs to the lungs first. Salty flavors runs to the kidneys first. The grain qi and fluids keep moving, and the nutritive qi and defensive qi flow smoothly. Then the egesta are conveyed downward in an orderly fashion.
