With the sky above and the earth beneath, what emerges in the soil, but is not exposed to the air is called yin within yin; what is exposed to the air is called yang within yin. The yang dominates generation, and the yin dominates formation. Therefore, generation is due to spring, and growth is due to summer; harvest is due to autumn, and storage is due to winter. Abnormalities may make the heaven and earth blocked. The changes in the yin and yang of man are also calculable.
