Tonify Deficiencies

1 TASTE
Sweet and warm


2 MERIDIANS
Liver and kidney


3 FUNCTIONS
1. To tonify liver and kidneys and strengthen bones and tendons; 2.To calm the fetus to prevent miscarriage


4 INDICATIONS
1. Deficiency of liver and kidneys manifested as soreness and pain in the lower back and kness. Eucommia bark (Du Zhong) is used with Psoralea fruit (Bu Gu Zhi)and Walnut seed (Huatoren).    2. Impotence due to deficient kidneys. Eucomia bark (Duzhong) is used with Dogwood fruit (Shan Zhu Yu), Dadder seed (Tu Si Zi) and Schisandra fruit (Wu Wei Zi).    3. Threatened abortion or restlessness of fetus manifested as lower abdomina pain and uterine bleeding. Eucommia bark (Duzhong)is  used with Teasel root (Xu Duan)and Dioscorea(Shan Yao).


5 DOSAGE
10-15g


6 COUTIONS
The fried herb is more effcetive than the raw herb. Eucommia bark (Duzhong) is contraindicated in cases with deficiency of yin with excessive fire.
