Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue-dorsal interosseous muscke-palmar interosseous muscle-lumbrical muscle.
In the superficial layer, there are the dorsal metacarpal artery and vein or the dorsal digiral artery and vein and the dorsal digital nerve. In the deep layer, there are the common digital palmar artery and vein or the proper palmar digital artery and vein and the proper palmar digital nerve.


Location:
Make a loose fist; at the end of fissure between the 1st to 5th finger. Or, stretch one`s palm with five firgers divided; at the midpoint of the dorso-ventral boundary of fissure between each of the fingers.
Function:
Clearing heat, detoxifying, dredging the collaterals and relieving pain.


Indications:
Excessive heat, finger numbness, spasm and contracture of the fingers, and swelling of the dorsum of the hand.


Prescription:
Combined use with HouxiSI3 (Houxi (SI3) Shu-Stream Point, The Eight Confluent Point) and SanjianLI3 (Sanjian (LI3) Shu-Stream Point) for treatment of finger numbness and pain; with WaiguanTE5 (Waiguan (TE5) Luo-Connecting Point the Eight Confluent Point) for treatment of finger numbness; and with QuchiLI11 (Quchi (LI11) He-Sea Point), NeiguanPC6 (Neiguan (PC6) Luo-Connecting Point the Eight Confluent Point), YangchiTE4 (Yangchi (TE4) Yuan-Source Point), HeguLI4 (Hegu (LI4) Yuan-Source Point), Wailaogong, ZusanliST36 (Zusanli (ST36) He-Sea Point), ZhongwanCV12 (Zhongwan (CV12) Front-Mu Point of the Stomach), XuanzhongGB39 (Xuanzhong (GB39) Influential Point of the Marrow), and XianguST43 (Xiangu (ST43) Shu-Stream Point) for treatment of multiple neuritis.


Methods:
Insert the needle obliquely to 0.3-0.8 cun deep or prick to cause bleeding.
