Kidney Meridian

Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue-anterior sheath of rectus muscle of abdomen-rectus muscle of abdomen.
In the superficial layer, there are the branches or tributaries of the superficial epigastric and vein, the anterior cutaneous branches of the anterior branches of the 11th and 12th thoracic and 1st lumbar nervea and the accompanying arteries and veins. In tne deep layer, there are the branches or tributaries of the inferior epigadtric artery and vein, the muscular branches of the anterior branches of the anterior branches of the 11th and 12th thoracic nerves related intercostal arteries and veins.


Location:
Supine position; firstly, locate GuanyuanCV4(Guanyuan (CV4) Front-Mu Point of the SmallIntestine) 3 cun vertically below umbilicus, then 0.5 cun lateral to GuanyuanCV4(CV4).
Function:
Tonifying the kidney-qi, regulating the lower-jiao, lowering the adverse flow of qi, and warming the uterus.


Indications:
Irregular menstruation, leukorrhea, sterility, urinary tract infection, Diarrhea, spermatorrhea, sexual impotence, painful penis, nephritis, cystoparalysis, hematophthalmia, and keratitis.


Prescription:
Combined use with GuanyuanCV4 (CV4), SanyinjiaoSP6 (Sanyinjiao (SP6)) for the treatment of sterility; and with YinlingquanSP9 (Yinlingquan (SP9) He-Sea Point) for treatment of anuresis.


Methods:
Insert the needle perpendicularly, 1-1.5 cun deep; needling response: local numbness and distension, radiating downwards; moxibustion: using 3-5 moxa-cones, or mild moxibustion for 10 min.
Note:
Qixue (KI13) its related organs include the greater omentum and the small intestine, etc. in the abdominal cavity.
