Internal Medicine

There are 58 cases of outpatients suffered from laryngeal-induced coughing, most of patients have common cold history, they were treated or not treated but the symptom of common cold disappeared, cough is the current symptom, the main is itching throat and paroxysmal or spastic cough, severe cough could result in chest and abdominal pain, headache, or enuresis during the cough. There is less sputum or a little thin white sputum. Sore throat, hoarse voice, dry throat and do not want to drink too much. Pale red tongue with white slippery tongue coating, wiry thready pulse or deep pulse. Pale red throat without tumescence,  there is lymphatic nodule hyperplasia in posterior wall of pharynx. Normal blood. X-ray shows normal lung or lung markings increasing. Treatment method: She Gan Ma Huang Tang with modification. The ingredients include She Gan, toast Ma Huang, Xi Xin, Ban Xia, Wu Wei Zi, Zi Yuan, Kuan Dong Hua, Sheng Jiang, Niu Bang Zi, Jie Geng. 1 docoction per day, dococting with water, oral taking after breakfast and supper. 3 days are one course, stopping using other medicine or herbs during the treatment period. Modification: adding Sang Bai Pi if there is evil stasis transfers to heat; adding Xin Yi, Fang Feng if there is snuffle and nasal discharge; adding Chan Tui, Jiang Can, Di Long if there is itching throat with cough and spastic severe cough. Treatment result: healing rate is 91.3%.
